Emma Stone will reunite with "Easy A" director Will Gluck for Screen Gems' romantic comedy "Friends With Benefits," and her "Zombieland" co-star Woody Harrelson will be joining her, the studio has confirmed to TheWrap.
The movie stars Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis as two friends who have recently emerged from disastrous relationships.
Veteran character actors Patricia Clarkson and Richard Jenkins have also joined the cast, along with funny people Jenna Elfman and Andy Samberg.
Additionally, New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez is in negotiations to make his big-screen debut in the movie, although it's unclear if he'll be playing himself or a fictional character.
Rodriguez is also providing a voice for Barrett Esposito's upcoming animated family film "Henry and Me."
David A. Newman and Keith Merryman wrote the script, and Gluck performed a rewrite.
Martin Shafer and Liz Glotzer are producing through Castle Rock, while Clint Culpepper and Eric Paquette will oversee the project for Screen Gems.
Production is scheduled to begin later this month in and around New York, and should Rodriguez's deal close, Screen Gems will work around his baseball schedule and shoot his scenes on the player's off days.
That's too bad, because as a Red Sox fan, I was hoping A-Rod would miss a couple games. Sigh …
