Moviegoers may never be able to look at Robert De Niro the same way again after hearing the things he says in “Dirty Grandpa.” The red-band trailer for the raunchy R-rated comedy doesn’t hold back, with Zac Efron playing the straight man to De Niro’s newly widowed senior citizen who’s single and ready to mingle with college-aged girls.
The comedy follows Efron as an uptight young man who is forced to drive his grandfather (De Niro) to a retirement community in Boca Raton, Florida. Along the way, the grandfather forces his grandson to stop off at a few spring-break party spots.
Aubrey Plaza, Zoey Deutch, and Dermot Mulroney co-star in the film. John Phillips wrote the script with Dan Mazer directing.
Bill Block‘s QED International, Jason Barrett, Barry Josephson, Michael Simkin and Running Wild produced.
Lionsgate is distributing the film. “Dirty Grandpa” hits theaters on Jan. 22.
