Facebook Watch has ordered a new animated comedy series, “Human Discoveries,” starring Zac Efron and Anna Kendrick. It is co-produced by ShadowMachine founders Corey Campodonico and Alex Bulkley — both producers on “BoJack Horseman” — and Ninjas Runnin’ Wild, the companies announced on Tuesday.

“Human Discoveries” features a group of friends living at the dawn of human civilization, where they become the first people to discover basic necessities like fire and the wheel. They’ll also stumble onto more provocative innovations like art, fashion, racism, alcohol, small talk, and, perhaps most confusingly to them, monogamy.

The show, set to debut later this year on Watch, Facebook’s video hub, also features a who’s who of comedy stars, including Lamorne Morris, Jillian Bell, Paul Scheer and Lisa Kudrow.

“With ‘Human Discoveries,’ we’ve assembled an incredible creative team and we’re proud to join forces with such uniquely funny and smart collaborators as Zac and Anna,” Campodonico said in a statement. “We look forward to sharing this show with everyone through Facebook Watch, our other amazing partner, for the series. It’s a new exciting, adventure for all of us.”

Executive producers on the project are Kirk J. Rudell, Bruno, Lee, Kendrick, Efron, Campodonico, Bulkley, Jason Barrett and Michael Simkin.

Bulkley and Campodonico launched ShadowMachine in 1999 and has since been involved in several well-received projects like “BoJack Horseman” and “Robot Chicken.” The company is currently producing “Pinocchio,”  Guillermo del Toro’s stop-motion animated feature.
