“The Haunting of Hill House” star Victoria Pedretti has been cast as the female lead for Season 2 of “You,” joining Penn Badgley on the former-Lifetime-now-Netflix series.

Pedretti has been cast as Love Quinn, an aspiring chef working as a produce manager in a high-end grocery store. Love is uninterested in the world of social media, branding and self-promotion, focused instead on leading an interesting life. She is also tending to a deep grief — and when she meets Joe Goldberg, she senses a shared knowledge of profound, life-changing loss.

In December, Netflix announced it had picked up the second season of “You” from Lifetime, the cable network which aired Season 1 and had already renewed the show prior to its series debut.

“Lifetime had an incredible experience working with Greg Berlanti, Sera Gamble and the entire team on ‘You’ for season one,” a spokesperson for the cable network said in a statement to TheWrap Monday. “We wish the cast and crew the best as the series continues on at Netflix and can’t wait for the opportunity to work with the creative team again.”

No premiere date has been set for Season 2 yet, but the first season of “You” — starring Badgley, Elizabeth Lail, Luca Padovan, Zach Cherry and Shay Mitchell and special guest star John Stamos — hit Netflix at the end of last month.

Pedretti starred as Nell Crain on Netflix’s new horror series “Haunting of Hill House,” which launched to rave reviews from fans and critics alike last October. She’ll next be seen in Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” as well as the Annapurna feature “Shirley,” with Elisabeth Moss.

“You” is executive produced by Berlanti, Gamble, Sarah Schechter, Leslie Morgenstein, Gina Girolamo and Marcos Siega. The series hails from Berlanti Productions, Man Sewing Dinosaur and Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television.
