There are a whole lot of mutants in Fox’s “X-Men” series, and it seems like all of them are appearing in the latest film in the series, “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” They even have both versions of Professor X (Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy) and Magneto (Ian McKellan and Michael Fassbender). With all those heroes and villains running around, it can be hard to keep track of who’s who.
Blink is one of those new faces in this film, portrayed by Chinese actress Fan Bingbing. She has teleportation abilities, but they’re a little more complicated than Nightcrawler’s. Think of her mutant ability as bringing the video game “Portal” to life. Blink can create portals of varying sizes to transport herself and others through them. She’s learned to use this ability both offensively and defensively.

The only drawback to seeing spotlights like these is the likelihood of being disappointed at the relatively small screentime characters like Blink are sure to see when the Bryan Singer-directed film hits theaters on May 23, 2014. Maybe she’ll make a big enough impact to feature larger in future installments, or even earn her own spinoff in the growing X-Men cinematic universe.
