Worldview Entertainment will finance and produce the crime thriller, “Candy Store,” starring Robert De Niro, the production company announced during the lead-up to the American Film Market.
The film follows an undercover agent who tries to begin a new life as a beat cop in Brooklyn. Jason Clarke (“Zero Dark Thirty”) and Omar Sy (“The Intouchables”) co-star and Stephen Gaghan (“Syriana”) will direct from a screenplay he wrote with Shannon Burke.
Lotus will handle international sales and introduce the film to buyers next week at the American Film Market (AFM) while CAA, who packaged and arranged financing for the film, will represent domestic rights. Principal photography will begin in 2014.
