World Series Game 1 Viewers Up 18% Over Last Year

The rout for the Red Sox was also a good night for Fox

Game 1 on Wednesday resulted in a victory for both the Boston Red Sox and Fox.

The first game of the World Series earned an 8.6/14 national household rating/share and averaged 14.4 million viewers. It was up 13 percent in ratings and 18 percent in viewership over last year’s 7.6/12  and 12.2 million viewers. The advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic saw a 17 percent jump.

Last year’s World Series — in its entirety — was the lowest in Fox’s broadcast history.
