NBC tangoed with CBS and Fox last night, when its “World of Dance” proved (and improved) enough for the network to land a first-place primetime finish.
Thursday’s No. 1 network can thank Fox and CBS for airing an extra rerun apiece last night, setting NBC up for a fairly easy — though tight — outright victory.
NBC was first in ratings with a 0.9 rating/4 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 4.2 million, according to preliminary numbers. The Jennifer Lopez-led dance competition, airing from 8-10 p.m., posted a 1.1/5 and 5.3 million viewers. At 10, “Reverie” settled for a 0.4/2 and 2.2 million viewers.
CBS and Fox tied for second in ratings, both with a 0.8/4. CBS was second in viewers with 3.8 million, Fox was third with 2.9 million.
For CBS, “Big Brother” at 8 landed a 1.5/8 and 5.6 million viewers. Reruns followed.
For Fox, “MasterChef” at 8 whipped up a 0.9/5 and 3.5 million viewers.
Telemundo was fourth in ratings with a 0.6/3 and fifth in viewers with 1.5 million.
ABC was fifth in ratings with a 0.5/3 and fourth in viewers with 2.3 million, airing all repeats.
Univision was sixth in ratings with a 0.4/2 and in viewers with 1.2 million.
The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in viewers with 851,000. “Burden of Truth” at 8 had a 0.2/1 and 830,000 viewers. At 9, the season finale for “The Originals” received a 0.3/1 and 873,000 viewers.
