Kristen Wiig is in advanced talks to play the villain Cheetah, one of DC Comics’ oldest supervillains, in the sequel to “Wonder Woman,” an individual with knowledge of the project tells The Wrap.
Cheetah is the name of several enemies of Wonder Woman appearing in DC Comics since 1943, the current version beingย Barbara Ann Minerva, a superpowered woman with werewolf-like powers who debuted in 1987. According to ThatHashtagShow, who first reported that the character would appear in “Wonder Woman 2”, Wiig will play Minerva in the film.
Plot details have not been announced, but TheWrap has confirmed that, like “Wonder Woman,” “Wonder Woman 2” will be a period piece, this time taking place during the later Cold War in the 1980s.
