Six new “X-Men: Days of Future Past” behind-the-scenes videos have hit the web — one of which features Hugh Jackman decking Nicholas Hoult, and another with Ellen Page explaining what the hell is happening in the the upcoming time-traveling Marvel mutant sci-fi extravaganza.

“[Kitty Pryde] has the ability to send someone’s consciences back in time to their younger self. In this post-apocalyptic war era, the X-Men are being pursued by the sentinels, so they develop a plan to send someone back in time,” Page explains in the featurette (above) about Wolverine’s mission that bridges Bryan Singer‘s original “X-Men” cast with “First Class” stars. “The individual whose mind is going back gets weaker as time goes on, as well as Kitty. We just hope that Wolverine can complete the mission before she has to let go.”

Jackman adds that Wolverine is the only candidate for the job, since a normal mortal would die if their consciousness was transported more than a year back in time, but since he has the ability to heal, he can go back 50.

Another clip (below) about director Bryan Singer reassembling his “X-Men” team, both in front of and behind the camera, reveals Wolverine won’t be any easier to get along with in the past.

“In the future, you and I are going to be good friends,” Jackman’s character tells young Beast (Hoult), before knocking him out with a single punch. “You just don’t’ know it yet.”

20th Century Fox is releasing “X-Men: Days of Future Past” on May 23. Watch five more clips below to get excited for what Singer calls the an expansion of the universe in the “biggest, best way possible.”
