Hugh Jackman and director James Mangold have revealed the third Wolverine film’s title: “Logan.”
Previously referred to as “Wolverine 3,” the final chapter in Jackman’s journey as the “X-Men” character is set for a Mar. 3, 2017 release date. In the poster, Jackman’s clawed hand can be seen holding the hand of a child.

The R-rated film will star Jackman, Boyd Holbrook, Patrick Stewart, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Doris Morgado and Stephen Merchant.
Last month, “X-Men: Apocalypse” producer Simon Kinberg and director Bryan Singer revealed that the one and only Mister Sinister would appear in the new movie during an audio commentary for the digital release of “Apocalypse.”
Jackman first appeared as the clawed mutant in 2000’s “X-Men,” and reprised his role in the movies that followed. The character received his standalone origin story with “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” followed up by “The Wolverine” in 2013.
Mangold also revealed the second page of the screenplay on Twitter.

While plot details remain relatively unknown, it was confirmed that the film will be set in the future. With that revelation, fans have wondered whether the sequel will have something to do with the “Old Man Logan” comic book storyline, which tells the story of an older Wolverine living in a society in which villains rule.
