Dwayne Johnson Teases Major ‘Black Adam’ Cameo: ‘Welcome Home’ (Video)

“We weren’t gonna take no for an answer,” Johnson said

Fans hoping for Henry Cavill to return as Superman in “Black Adam” now have even more hope to cling to. According to star Dwayne Johnson, there’s definitely an appearance by someone in the film — one that he offered a hearty “welcome home” to.

Appearing on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Wednesday night, Johnson didn’t give any explicit spoilers on the ending of “Black Adam,” but he sure did get close. In talking about the movie, Fallon noted that, like most superhero films, there is indeed a post-credits scene on “Black Adam.” And, according to the host, “Something happens, and people are gonna freak out.” He also teased that that freaking out would happen because “Fans have been kind of asking this for a long time.”

Naturally, the assumption there is a Superman cameo. Fans have long hoped that Henry Cavill would return as the beloved Kryptonian in “Black Adam” and face off against Johnson’s character. And while Johnson doesn’t explicitly name any names, he did expound a bit more on Fallon’s tease.

“For years, you guys know, fans have been screaming, they’ve been upset, like hey — we established Black Adam as the most powerful and unstoppable force on this planet. The most powerful and unstoppable force in the entire universe has been on the sidelines for too long,” Johnson said, parroting a phrase he’s used to describe Superman multiple times in the lead-up to “Black Adam.”

“So myself, 7 Bucks, Danny Garcia, Hiram Garcia, we fought, and we weren’t gonna take no for an answer, we were gonna deliver it to the fans,” he continued. “And then at the end — welcome home.”

Johnson has already previously teased a future fight between Black Adam and Superman, though he did not specify when in the timeline of the DCEU it’ll happen. And granted, with a superhero film, you never know for sure who’s going to show up. This could be a giant twist, bringing back another beloved hero. But it sure sounds like Superman is showing up sooner than later at this point.
