James Corden Blue Himself to Play Genie in ‘Crosswalk the Musical: Aladdin’ – and Then Will Smith Showed Up (Video)

So try on that monkey costume, James

“Late Late Show” host James Corden reassembled his troupe of “Crosswalk the Musical” players to perform “Aladdin” just outside his CBS studio lot. The live-action remake’s Princess Jasmine (Naomi Scott) and Aladdin (Mena Massoud) both showed up to reprise their roles — Will Smith was late.

The Fresh Prince’s involvement really through a monkey wrench into Corden’s plans, however, as James had gone full Genie for the gig, including blue face paint.

When Smith showed up, that all went out the window. Fortunately, the “Men in Black” alum had another job in mind for his new British friend.

“You are more like Abu,” Smith told Corden.

Corden then threw a fit, swearing up and down that he’ll never play the silly monkey, who is Aladdin’s other partner in crime. Our readers should probably see where this is going. Smash Cut To: A miserable Corden in full monkey garb.

The problem with Abu.

“Before we get out there on this magic carpet ride, I wan’t to remind everybody that ‘Don’t you dare close your eyes’ is not just a wonderful lyric, it could also save your life,” Corden warned his gang of gypsies. “The traffic is real and it’s dangerous.”

It’s a whole new world.

No need to loiter on the streets of Los Angeles: “Aladdin” rode a magic carpet in theaters on Friday.
