Will Ferrell & Adam McKay to Produce Columbia’s ‘Wheels’

Huck Botko and Andrew Gurland (“The Virginity Hit”) are writing the teen road movie

Will Ferrell and Adam McKay will produce "Wheels," a high school road movie that Andrew Gurland and Huck Botko ("The Last Exorcism") are writing based on their original pitch, Columbia Pictures announced on Tuesday.

Principato-Young is also producing the low-budget project along with Ferrell and McKay's Gary Sanchez Prods.

Gurland and Botko will develop "Wheels" as a directorial vehicle. They previously wrote and directed the experimental teen comedy "The Virginity Hit," which was also produced by Gary Sanchez and Principato-Young for Columbia, as well as the 2004 indie "Mail Order Wife."

Additionally, Gurland co-directed the controversial 1998 documentary "Frat House" with Todd Phillips.

Gurland and Botko are currently writing and directing Universal's "Fun House," which Strike Entertainment is producing with Eli Roth.
