The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, a character from “Empire” and a Nephilim on “Supernatural” had viewers talking passionately on social media over the past seven days.

The Wrap has partnered with Canvs, the emotion measurement company, for a weekly look at some of the characters and personalities that have TV viewers the most worked up on social media. The data below covers Dec. 6-12 and is drawn from the most emotionally reacted-to television programs, including broadcast, cable, streaming and PPV.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz was the most-mentioned player during the Eagles vs. Los Angeles Rams NFL game which was broadcast on Fox and generated 97,729 Emotional Reactions (ERs). Fans applauded Wentz’s performance throughout the game as he passed for four touchdowns, and then became concerned when he started limping in the third quarter. Wentz ended up leaving the game with an injury to his left knee, and underwent surgery Wednesday morning to repair his ACL.

The latest episode of “Empire” on Fox (12,135 ERs) opened with a sort of Lyon family intervention for Jamal (portrayed by Jussie Smollett) to discuss what to do about his impending charges including assault, battery and disturbing the peace, but the conversation derailed into other topics. Later on, Jamal’s sobriety took a stumble and as he looked to drown his sorrows, fans took to social media to speak out. Some sent supportive messages while others just shook their heads (well, figuratively) and called him stupid.

Much of the discussion during the latest episode of “Supernatural” on The CW (11,127 ERs) centered around Jack (portrayed by Alexander Calvert), who is half-human and half-angel (aka a Nephilim) and has teamed up with Sam and Dean Winchester (Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles) in the fight of good against evil. Many of the viewer comments were positive, with more than a few messages of adoration.
