The first two episodes of “Daredevil: Born Again” are now streaming, and you might be wondering, who was Kamar de los Reyes?
Ahead of Episode 2, a brief in memoriam title card displays onscreen, commemorating de los Reyes, who plays a key character in the series. Through the rest of the episode, we get to know the late actor as Hector Ayala, also known as the vigilante White Tiger. He’s a hero who believes in helping people simply because it’s the right thing to do.
Sadly, de los Reyes died on Christmas Eve, back in 2023, making “Daredevil: Born Again” one of his final roles. De los Reyes was 56 years old, and died after a brief battle with cancer.
The actor was best known for his time as Antonio Vega on the ABC soap opera “One Life to Live,” and he was married to “The Fosters” actress Sherri Saum.
“Daredevil: Born Again” had started production in March that same year, before pausing due to the double strike in Hollywood, and resuming in 2024. According to reports at the time, de los Reyes had finished filming his arc before his death.
In the series, Hector Ayala finds himself in need of legal counsel after the cops try to lie and say he murdered one of their own. Naturally, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) is more than willing to help him out.
