Timothée Chalamet immersed himself completely into the work of Bob Dylan for years to prepare for “A Complete Unknown,” the James Mangold-directed biopic that is up for eight Oscars and has grossed over $120 million at the box office. Now Chalamet could become the youngest Best Actor winner ever if he scores the Oscar win like he did the SAG Award, but plenty are surely wondering where to watch “A Complete Unknown” if they haven’t seen the Bob Dylan movie yet.

Is “A Complete Unknown” streaming?

Not yet, but a streaming release date is imminent. The film hit theaters on Christmas and since it’s a Searchlight Pictures release, it will be streaming on Hulu likely around 90 days after it first opened. What is “A Complete Unknown” about?

Set in early 1960s New York, the film charts Bob Dylan’s early days and arrival on the folk music scene, and eventually his pivot to electric guitar and how it alienated many in the folk world. The film follows, in particular, Dylan’s mentorship by Pete Seeger (Edward Norton) and relationship with Joan Baez (Monica Barbaro).

Who directed “A Complete Unknown?”

The film was co-written, produced and directed by James Mangold, who previously chronicled the life of Johnny Cash in “Walk the Line” starring Joaquin Phoenix. He also directed “Logan” and “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.”
