WGN America has ordered its first original series titled "Salem," the network announced Tuesday.
The network gave its tip-of-the-cap to the drama series from Fox 21 and producers Brannon Braga and Adam Simon. The move is symbolic of WGN America's plan to aggressively expand its programming slate.
"Salem explores what really fueled the town's infamous witch trials and dares to uncover the dark, supernatural truth hiding behind the veil of this infamous period in American history," according to the network.
