Wendy Williams called into “The View” for a rare interview amid her conservatorship this week, and during the conversation, she had one major request for those keeping her in the arrangement: “get off my neck.”

Though the interview was pre-taped on Thursday, the conversation ran as part of Friday’s episode. During the interview, host Sunny Hostin thanked Williams for giving her a professional start (Hostin once worked as a “legal eagle” on Williams’ show), prompting Williams to agree that “I have been doing important things all of my life.”

Bearing that in mind, Williams argued that her guardian Sabrina Morrissey and the judge who ordered the guardianship are not appropriate for multiple other reasons.

“These two people don’t look like me, they don’t dress like me, they don’t talk like me, they don’t act like me, and I would venture to say they will never be me,” she said. “I need them to, with my knees, you know, get off my neck!”

Williams insisted that she neither wants nor needs a guardianship at this point, explaining that when it was originally put into place by Wells Fargo, “everybody played really nice to me.”

“I did not mind it at that time at all, because it’s about my money and keeping my money safe. You understand what I’m saying?” she said. “But at this point in my life, I want to terminate guardianship and move on with my life, if that’s possible at all.”

“It’s been over three years, and you know, I’m saying it’s time for my money and my life get back to status quo,” Williams added.

“The View” airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
