David Hutkin has been named chief financial officer of The Weinstein Company.

Hutkin has served as TWC’s Executive Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, Investments, and Banking since 2010. At Weinstein, Hutkin negotiated and secured financing for films such as “Southpaw” and “Boys in the Boat,” as well as for Weinstein Television’s projects “The Mist” and “Marco Polo.”

Before joining the company, Hutkin spent 15 years in entertainment financing for various banks, including First California Bank, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, ICB Entertainment Finance and The Lewis Horwitz Organization.

“Working at TWC has been an incredible opportunity filled with so many great challenges and experiences,” Hutkin said in a statement announcing the move. “I’m looking forward to working with Harvey, Bob, David, and the rest of the TWC team in this new role as the company continues to grow and explore new ventures.”

“Over the last 6 years, David has demonstrated complete ingenuity and resourcefulness when it comes to investors and entertainment finance,” TWC Co-Chairmen Harvey Weinstein and Bob Weinstein said in a statement. “His extensive background in banking and strategic finance is perfectly suited for our continued growth as a company, especially in our TV division. We are thrilled that he will be taking on this new role.”

“I have had the pleasure of working with David for the last 15 years and I see him as the ideal candidate to guide us through strategic plays in TV, film and other areas TWC chooses to explore in the coming years,” TWC President and Chief Operating Officer David Glasser said in the statement.
