On Sunday, Universal debuted a new action-packedย and genuinely terrifying trailer for its reboot of “The Mummy.”
The new clip opens withย three scavengers who discover an old prison, where the story of Sofia Boutella’s mummy is revealed. We find out that in Ancient Egypt, she was supposed to become the next Pharaoh, “but her thirst for power led her down a dark path.”
Somehow Tom Cruise’s character resurfaces the mummy and is taken onย a dangerous adventureย alongside Jake Johnson and Annabelle Wallis. There are a lot of creepy crawlies, just like in the original movies. Boutella’s mummy meanwhileย keeps popping up to terrorize the heroesย in creative ways.
