Most people like to spend lazy summer afternoons by the pool. Apparently, the same goes for gorillas — well, for at least one of them.
A 14-year-old western lowland gorilla named Zola has become an internet star after a short video surfaced of him dancing in a kiddie pool at the Dallas Zoo.
The zoo schedules “enrichment sessions” for its animals in order to “enhance [their] environment” and “[provide] them with mental and physical stimulation to increase natural behaviors,” according to NPR. And Zola’s favorite enrichment session is apparently pool playtime.
Wanting to pump up the drama of Zola’s sweet dance moves, one Twitter user, Bob Hagh, set the video to music. Zola’s spins and splashes pair perfectly with the song “Maniac,” from “Flashdance.”
