Watch ‘SNL’ Attempt to Figure Out Why Benedict Cumberbatch Is Hot (Video)

Everybody wants to bang the “Doctor Strange” star and Beck Bennett aims to get to the bottom of the mystery surrounding that phenomenon

Just what exactly is the deal with everybody’s sexual obsession with Benedict Cumberbatch? In search of answers on this week’s “Saturday Night Live,” cast member Beck Bennett set up a fake game show called “Why Is Benedict Cumberbatch Hot?”

“I’m your host Beck Bennett. And welcome to my brand new game show where I try to get to the bottom of something that’s been throwing me for a loop all week,” Bennett opened before introducing the three contestants and describing the premise of the show.

“Every girl on the cast has been so horny for this dude all week,” Bennett continued, totally failing to hide his own vested interest in the topic. “So as a guy, I’m just kind of trying to figure that out.”

After Vanessa Bayer and Aidy Bryant were unable to provide Bennett with a satisfactory answer to the question, he moved on to Cumberbatch himself.

“I don’t know either. I mean, some people say I look a bit like a hammerhead shark… or a lizard man,” Cumberbatch said. “I think I look a bit like Sid the sloth from ‘Ice Age.’

“But I guess it doesn’t really matter, because Glamour magazine named me one of their sexiest men alive.”

Bennett’s true motivations came out later in the sketch, when he held up two photos, one of Cumberbatch and one of himself, shirtless, and asked Bayer and Bryant which one was hotter.

Bryant and Bayer again disappointed him, choosing Cumberbatch’s photo. That’s when Cumberbatch himself came to Bennett’s rescue because he also happens to be a nice guy.

“I will say out of the two photographs you do have the hotter one,” Cumberbatch said of Bennett’s pic. “You’ve got nice abs. And your skin looks smooth and even. You’re also funny, charming, super nice — until this sketch. I have really enjoyed hanging out with you this week. I hope we can do it again.”
