Ronda Rousey didn’t come into the WWE quietly on Sunday night, when she signed her official contract at the pay-per-view Elimination Chamber event live from Las Vegas.
The former UFC star lived up to her nickname “Rowdy” by taking on the Authority, a.k.a. Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, after she was told by Raw General Manager Kurt Angle that they had duped her into signing with false promises of an appearance at WrestleMania 34.
Angle claimed that McMahon and H just wanted to keep Rousey under their thumbs in revenge for her embarrassing them in WrestleMania 31 three years ago.
The revelation did not sit well with Rousey, who picked up Triple H as if he was light as a feather and slammed him through a table — and then had an angry confrontation with his wife.
“Who do you think you are?” McMahon screeched at Rousey, before bitch-slapping her across the face.
According to WWE.com, McMahon also called her new nemesis a “has-been” and said she could “take her.” Now them are fighting words…
The drama definitely paid off for WWE at least, as Elimination Chamber 2018 was the 2nd most social program in primetime on Sunday night, surpassing XXIII Winter Olympics: Closing Ceremony with 1,604,582 total interactions.
