Rihanna made her debut as Marion Crane on A&E’s “Bates Motel” last night, and to the delight of fans, livestreamed herself watching her innagural turn on the show.
It’s as awkward as you can imagine, as the singer-actress quickly bemoans a kissing scene, saying it “sounds gross.” She also indicates hatred over the sound of her own voice.
“This is so weird, oh my god, I can’t,” she says in the beginning, at one point hiding her face to avoid having to watch herself.
Rihanna was joined by several friends, who shared her embarrassment with laughter and some applause as the episode progressed. But everyone forgets about the awkwardness and gets into the show once the singer introduces a drinking game.
By the 30-minute mark, RiRi visibly loosens up and dances along to commercial music. She also does more commentating of the actual plot than cringing at having to watch herself.

Rihanna will recur in multiple episodes of “Bates Motel,” which should ultimately conclude in her death in an iconic shower scene from the original “Psycho,” at the hands of Freddie Highmore’s Norman Bates.
“Bates Motel” is now in its final season and airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on A&E.
