Watch President Obama’s Farewell Speech (Livestream)

Time to say goodbye

President Obama’s goodbye to the nation will call on ordinary people to fight for progress — and you can watch it live above.

Obama will deliver his goodbye from Chicago, where he declared victory in both the 2008 and the 2012 election.

“This is where I learned that change only happens when ordinary people get involved, get engaged, and come together to demand it,” the president will say, according to parts of the speech that have been released ahead of time.

The final speech will capture Obama’s most iconic moments in his historic presidency, rooted in the “hope and change” message that carried him to the White House.

The positive messages arrive Tuesday as people on social media were horrified and captivated by one of the most unsavory stories since Donald Trump won the presidency — an “unverified” allegation, published by BuzzFeed, that you can read here.

The president’s address begins at 8 p.m. Chicago time, 9 PT ET and 6 PT.
