AMC President and General Manager Charlie Collier and Kevin Smith in event broadcast via Facebook Live

Charlie Collier, President and General Manager of AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios is the featured speaker at TheGrill Special Event on Tuesday, with an introduction from filmmaker Kevin Smith. He’ll be speaking with TheWrap CEO and Editor-in-Chief Sharon Waxman at the Montage Beverly Hills Hotel.

Collier has been at the helm since 2008, spearheading AMC’s popular and acclaimed slate of original programming, from “The Walking Dead” to “Better Call Saul.”

Under Collier’s leadership, AMC is the most Emmy-winning cable network in the drama series category. In addition, the network boasts basic cable’s highest-rated drama series ever for “The Walking Dead.” AMC is also the No. 1 original programming destination in all of television, home to four of the top six shows on cable last year and three of the biggest cable launches of all time.

In 2015, Collier also assumed oversight of SundanceTV.  Under his leadership, SundanceTV has had its strongest performance ever, behind new series like “Cleverman” and “Hap and Leonard.”

And not to be outdone, Smith has written and directed a string of celebrated movies, dating back to 1994’s cult classic “Clerks.” The New Jersey native was also behind “Chasing Amy,” “Jersey Girl,” and “Clerks II.” One of the most distinct comedy voices in Hollywood, Smith has built his own podcasting network — Smodcast — and hosts several popular shows, including “Hollywood Babble-On.”
