James Van Der Beek does his best to channel Diplo in a new ad for the popular DJ’s annual Mad Decent Block Party concert tour.
“Sup, fam?” Van Der Beek-as-Diplo greets the audience in the video.
The former “Dawson’s Creek” star then pronounces himself just a regular old guy, though one who wakes up to a live harp performance every morning and has actual elves, and a full time social media manager, working hard to keep his brand going online.
The actor has found a a surprising knack for comedy in the years since Katie Holmes left him crying on a pier, including parodying himself on the short-lived sitcom “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23” as well as the CBS comedy “Friends With Better Lives.”
The 2016 Mad Decent Block Party will include 15 shows in 13 cities between July and October and will feature Diplo as well as dozens of other acts like Kesha and Kaskade.
Tickets are on sale now at MadDecentBlockParty.com.
