Watch Christina Aguilera and Beverly McClellan Sing ‘Beautiful’ on The Voice

On the finale of the NBC hit singing competition, coach Aguilera sang her anthem with McClellan

NBC's hit show 'The Voice' held a two-hour finale on Tuesday with the four final contestants singing both original compositions and duets with their respective coaches.

Javier Colon sang a beautiful ballad of his own and then shared harmonies on "Man in the Mirror" with his coach, Adam Levine. Dia Frampton sang Tom Petty, swearing she "won't back down," with her coach, Blake Shelton. And Vicci Martinez and Cee-Lo Green put on a Mad Max show, singing Pat Benatar's "Love is a Battlefield" accompanied by the fiercest tiny dancers ever (oh wait, they might have been children).

But the show had an unexpectedly tender moment when the bald, aggressively unbeautiful Beverly McClellan sang "Beautiful" with Christina Aguilera. The words – “I am beautiful, no matter what they say" – were sung in a gentle whisper between McClellan and Aguilera, her blonde hair contrasting with her charge.

The beautiful duet raised a question: is America ready to vote as the winner of "The Voice" someone who is clearly supremely talented, and yet provocatively… well, ugly unconventional?
