Warner Bros. sent a note to theater owners Tuesday presenting the Summit movie "Source Code," asking them to remove a trailer for Warner's upcoming R-rated comedy sequel "The Hangover 2" from the PG-13-rated thriller.
The MPAA didn't approve the trailer for the raunchy Todd Philips comedy before it was placed into the Jake Gyllenhaal action movie.
"In our haste to meet the placement schedule for this trailer, we failed to properly vet the final version with the MPAA," a Warner statement read. "We acted immediately to correct the mistake and removed the trailer from screens."
A new trailer is expected to be released in theaters with screenings of 'Scream 4.' 'The Hangover Part 2' opens on Memorial Day weekend, May 26.
