Warner Bros. Buys ‘Father Daughter Time’ for Matt Damon to Star, Direct, Produce

Multiple studios had bid on the project, a road movie about a man who goes on a crime spree with his daughter

Warner Bros. has acquired "Father Daughter Time: A Tale of Armed Robbery and Eskimo Kisses" for Matt Damon to star in, direct and produce, TheWrap has confirmed.

Warners paid $500,000 for Matthew Aldrich's spec script. The figure ups to $800,000 when the movie enters production. Several studios had bid on the project.

Damon has long wanted to direct and has been methodically planning to work with directors like the Coen Brothers in "True Grit" and Clint Eastwood in "Invictus" and "Hereafter" in part so he can learn the craft from them.

The movie is about a man who goes on a three-state crime spree with his daughter.

Damon is repped by CAA.

Aldrich is repped by Jewelr Ross's Silent R Management.
