Guillermo Del Toro has said he did not want to make “Pacific Rim” in 3D, but Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment have decided to convert the film in post-production in pursuit of box-office gold.

However, Del Toro told reporters at Comic-Con that he felt 3D would diminish the sweeping visual aesthetic he wanted for the film.
