Lauren Cohan is already set to make her return to “The Walking Dead” for the show’s upcoming 11th season. But those of you who are too impatient to wait to see Maggie come back next season should get satisfaction from learning she might actually appear this season.

“We may see her at some other point this season,” “Walking Dead” showrunner Angela Kang told Entertainment Weekly, adding, “but I don’t want to say too much about anything.”

When AMC announced the show had been renewed for Season 11 at San Diego Comic-Con in July, the cable channel also revealed that Cohan would be coming back as a series regular for that season.

AMC did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment on Cohan’s possible Season 10 return.

Cohan departed the series last year amid a period of significant cast turnover on the zombie drama. She most recently starred in the short-lived ABC spy comedy “Whiskey Cavalier” alongside “Scandal” alum Scott Foley until it was canceled in May.

Kang said that she and the other writers made sure to refer to Maggie from time to time to keep her in their story, even though we aren’t following her story at the moment.

“The idea that Maggie’s kind of out there in the world up to things and that they’re thinking about her has been seeded in for a while,” Kang said. “So she’s definitely on our characters’ minds as they’re dealing with all this stuff going on and realizing that some of the people that are really capable and wonderful that they love are just out there and inaccessible to them at the moment.”
