Stars of “The Walking Dead” continue to pay tribute to Scott Wilson nearly a week after the actor, who played Hershel Greene on the AMC drama, died.
“It is almost impossible to describe how I feel about this man,” Danai Gurira wrote on Twitter Thursday. “He was beyond a hero, beyond a gem, he was the dearest treasure one could hope to know. I am so thankful to have had the honor to work with him & to call him my friend. RIP Mr Wilson, your light has enriched us all.”
Showrunner Angela Kang posted a sweet photo to Twitter on Friday morning, saying that it was taken exactly seven years ago while shooting the well-known “Judge, Jury, Executioner” episode in Season 2. Laurie Holden, who played the role of Andrea, posted a photo of a Hershel Funko Pop Friday morning, with the caption “I miss you so much.”
Other stars from the show had previously posted tributes to Wilson, who died last weekend at the age of 76.
“The best tv dad a girl could ask for. An amazing actor, inspiration, and friend. Love you, Scott. I miss you. RIP,” Emma Kinney, who played Maggie’s younger sister Beth, said on Instagram earlier this week.
Scott Gimple, who was showrunner for Seasons 4-8 before becoming chief content officer of the “Dead” universe, said earlier this week: “I was lucky to meet him, let alone work with him, and to call him a friend… That’s been beyond lucky,” accompanied by a photo of Wilson wearing a superhero’s cape.
