Wachowskis’ ‘Jupiter Ascending’ Moves Up a Week to July 18, 2014

Warner Bros. shifts sci-fi adventure starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis into slot “Dawn of Planet of Apes” vacated Tuesday

Warner Bros. on Wednesday shifted the release date for “Jupiter Ascending,” the sci-fi adventure film from Andy and Lana Wachowski, up one week to July 18, 2014.

Next summer’s release schedule is already crowded, and the jockeying for position has started early.

The film, which stars Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis, moves into the slot vacated on Tuesday by Fox’s “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” which moved up a week to July 11.

The only other film currently sharing the July 18 date with “Jupiter Ascending” is Disney’s sequel “Planes: Fire and Rescue.”
