‘MTV Movie and TV Awards’: Vin Diesel Accepts ‘Fast and Furious’ Generation Award Without the Rock (Video)

One of cinema’s most prolific “families” accepts the show’s highest honor

Vin Diesel brought along his “family” — minus a few members — when he accepted the MTV Movie & TV Awards’ Generation Award for the “Fast & Furious” franchise.

Gal Gadot — who starred in the “Fast & Furious” films before she became Wonder Woman — presented the show’s highest honor.

“I’m going to need my family for this one,” Diesel said, before inviting co-stars Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson and Michelle Rodriguez onto the stage.

Diesel noted how years ago, he and Paul Walker accepted the “Best Duo” award. “Now, 15 years later, I’m with my whole family and you’re giving us the Generation Award,” Diesel said.

At the end of his acceptance speech, he did give a shout-out to his former co-star, giving love to “his brother Pablo” (his nickname for Walker). “We hope you’re proud,” he said, holding the trophy up in the air.

MTV announced previously that the action franchise would be receiving the award, which is normally reserved for individual actors. Past recipients have included Will Smith, Mike Myers and Sandra Bullock.

To honor the occasion, J Balvin and Pitbull joined Camila Cabello on stage to perform their steamy hit single, “Hey Ma,” which is featured in “The Fate of the Furious.”
