A night of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and the “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show” seemingly had something for everyone — a concept CBS capitalized on Tuesday, finishing first across primetime.
CBS was first in ratings with a 2.6 rating/8 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and first in viewers with an average of 10 million, according to preliminary numbers. The “Rudolph” Christmas special at 8 p.m. ET earned a 2.8/9 and 10.7 million viewers. Following a rerun, the “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show” scored a 3.3/10 — a night-high — and 9.1 million viewers.
NBC and Fox tied for second in ratings, both with a 1.4/4. NBC was second in viewers with 6.6 million viewers, Fox was fourth with 3.9 million.
For NBC, “The Voice” at received a 2.2/7 — a series low, excluding specials — and a primetime-best 10.9 million viewers. “Marry Me” at 9 had a 1.2/4 and 4.9 million viewers. “About A Boy” at 9:30 got a 0.9/3 and 3.7 million viewers. An NBC News special on Angelina Jolie‘s film “Unbroken” at 10 pulled in a 1.0/3 and 4.7 million viewers.
For Fox, “MasterChef Junior” at 8 had a 1.6/5 and 4.9 million viewers. “New Girl” at 9 received a 1.5/4 and 3.3 million viewers. “The Mindy Project” at 9:30 got a 1.2/3 and 2.6 million viewers.
ABC and The CW tied for fourth in ratings, both with a 1.3/4. ABC was third in viewers with a 4.8 million viewers, CW was fifth in viewers with 3.7 million.
For ABC, the “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” special at 8 got a 1.1/3 and 4.2 million viewers. The fall finale of “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” at 9 had a 1.7/5 and 5.2 million viewers. “Forever” at 10 received a 1.1/3 and 5.1 million viewers.
For CW, “The Flash” at 8 got a 1.5/5 and 4.5 million viewers. “Supernatural” at 9 had a 1.1/3 — up 22 percent — and 2.8 million viewers. Both were fall finales.
Telemundo was seventh in ratings with a 0.5/2 and in total viewers with 1.3 million.
