"Veronica Mars" isn't just coming to the big screen — it's also coming to the nation's bookstores.
The former TV show, which is being adapted into a movie after a tremendously successful Kickstarter campaign launched by creator Rob Thomas, is also a series from Vintage Books.

The novels will be developed and co-written by Thomas, who's also directing the "Mars" movie. The first, which will take up where the upcoming movie leaves off with an adult Veronica Mars (portrayed in the series and upcoming film by Kristen Bell), will be published in spring 2014, to coincide with the release of the film.
Thomas, who wrote a handful of novels, including 1996's "Rats Saw God," prior to creating "Veronica Mars," said he's "thrilled" to return to print.

"I started my career as a novelist. Veronica Mars was first imagined as a novel," Thomas said in a statement. "I'm thrilled that I'm going to get the opportunity to continue telling Veronica Mars stories in a form I've loved and missed."
