Colleen Hoover’s ‘Verity’ Sets May 2026 Release at Amazon MGM Studios

The Michael Showalter-directed feature stars Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson

“Verity” has set a date.

Amazon MGM Studios will roll out the Colleen Hoover adaptation, directed by Michael Showalter and starring Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett, on May 15, 2026.

The official synopsis for the adaptation reads: “Struggling writer Lowen Ashleigh is hired as a ghostwriter for renowned author Verity Crawford under mysterious circumstances, but her assignment takes a dark turn after discovering chilling autobiographical notes. Faced with a series of deadly family secrets, Lowen struggles to separate fiction from reality, while also blurring the lines with Verity’s husband, Jeremy.”

The adaptation was written by Nick Antosca (prior writers on the project include Hoover adn Lauren Levine, Hillary Seitz, Angela LaManna, and Will Honley and April Maguire), produced by Antosca, Alex Hedlund, Stacey Sher, Showalter, Jordana Mollick, Hathaway and Hoover.
