Exclusive: Vanity Fair’s Michael Hogan Named Executive Features Editor of AOL-HuffPost

Hogan also named EIC of Moviefone, AOL TV

Michael Hogan, executive digital editor of Vanity Fair, has been named executive features editor of AOL Huffington Post Media Group and editor-in-chief of Moviefone and AOL TV.

Hogan will oversee the brands and join the news, opinion and information network’s senior editorial team, AOL Huffington Post Media Group said in a statement.

"Michael Hogan is one of the brightest talents in online media, and we're thrilled he's joining us,” said Arianna Huffington, president and editor-in-chief of AOL Huffington Post Media Group. "Mike’s sharp voice and cultural savvy are a perfect fit to make Moviefone and AOL TV top destinations for vibrant and thought-provoking coverage — and he’ll take them to the next level of engagement and community.”

Added Hogan: “I couldn’t be more excited to join Arianna Huffington and her world-class team of editors, reporters, and developers. Over the past few years, I’ve watched in awe as they revolutionized online journalism, and I’m confident that together we can build Moviefone and AOL TV into essential destinations for TV and movie lovers everywhere. I’m also cautiously optimistic that I’ll be able to persuade Russ ‘Mr. Moviefone’ Leatherman to record my outgoing voicemail message.”

Hogan, who joined Vanity Fair in 1998, has been an editor there since 2002. He was named editor of VF.com in 2008 and expanded and redesigned the site. He also oversaw the launch of numerous mobile apps, including the Vanity Fair iPad Edition.
