The cast of “Saturday Night Live” has seen another departure.
Cast member Vanessa Bayer is departing the series after seven seasons on the NBC late-night sketch comedy series, an individual familiar with the departure told TheWrap on Saturday.
Bayer, who boarded “SNL” in 2010, is known for recurring characters such as Laura Parsons, a child actress who performs roles initially played by adults, former porn star Breckie and Jacob the Bar Mitzvah Boy, a character who appears on the Weekend Update segment of “SNL.”
Bayer acknowledged her exit via an Instagram post on Saturday, writing, “Thank you SNL for 7 years of laughs, love and incredible memories. It has been a dream come true.”
In addition to her “SNL” run, Bayer appeared in the 2015 film “Trainwreck” and the following year’s “Office Christmas Party,” as well as several episodes of the IFC series “Portlandia” starring “SNL” alum Fred Armisen.
Bayer’s departure follows news that “SNL” cast member Bobby Moynihan is exiting the show after nine seasons. Moynihan will star in the CBS sitcom “Me, Myself & I” in the fall.
“Saturday Night Live” airs its Season 42 finale this week, with host Dwayne Johnson and musical guest Katy Perry.
