Years after first breaking up following an album called "1984," the almost-original lineup of Van Halen is going on the road again in 2012.
With Eddie Van Halen's son, Wolfgang Van Halen, replacing bassist Michael Anthony, a David Lee Roth-fronted Van Halen will tour in 2012, with tickets going on sale Jan. 10. The group announced the news on its website.
Roth will be the lone non-Van Halen: The group's drummer remains Eddie's brother, Alex.
Roth left the group after "1984," with Sammy Hagar taking over. Gary Cherone also performed with the group.
Roth appeared with the group at the MTV Music Video awards before a brief 1997 tour. It signed a new record deal with Interscope Records in November, and is working on its first with Roth singing in nearly three decades.
Anthony and Hagar now play together in the group Chickenfoot.
