Elena’s had several months to mourn the death of Damon, but it appears she’s still not quite ready to move on.
In the first official trailer released for Season 6 of “The Vampire Diaries,” Elena (Nina Dobrev) is still moping around, reveling in old memories and throwing things as she processes her grief over losing Damon (Ian Somerhalder), who walked over to the Other Side in the Season 5 finale.

Meanwhile, Caroline (Candice Accola) is also missing a Salvatore brother, Stefan (Paul Wesley), who left without saying goodbye and appears to be hopping into bed with a new mystery woman. Someone who’s not acutely aware of even his most obvious secret, though he quickly fills her in. “I’m a vampire” works on all the ladies.
“The Vampire Diaries” returns to The CW Thursday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m.
