USA Network announced the pilot pick-up of the Carlton Cuse alien drama “Colony,” about a family trying to stay together as the entire human race is threatened.
The drama (“Colony” is a working title) was written by the “Lost,” “Bates Motel” and “The Strain” executive producer, as well as Ryan Condal (“Hercules”). Set in a futuristic Los Angeles, it finds humans occupied by outside intruders. Some collaborate in hopes of better treatment, while others rebel and suffer.

“‘Colony’ is a gripping story that brilliantly weaves together an intense family drama in an authentic, yet unknown, world,” said Chris McCumber, president of USA Network. “We are pleased to be in business with Ryan Condal and Carlton Cuse, who is clearly one of the best in the industry when it comes to genre fiction.”
“Colony,” a co-production between Legendary Television and Universal Cable Productions, joins the USA drama pilot pick-ups “Stanistan” and “Mr. Robot,” which are also working titles.
