USA Network is ready to go toe-to-toe with the big boys.
The cable outlet is holding its first official presentation during upfront week, an event generally reserved for networks, with a few exceptions. Though USA typically holds its presentation around the time of the upfronts, this is its first presentation during the official period when broadcasters present their fare to potential advertisers.
The move comes at a time when USA is definitely feeling its oats — on Monday, the outlet announced that it is cable's No. 1 network for the sixth year in a row, besting the competition in a number of categories, including the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic and total viewers.
USA's upfront week event will take place the evening of May 17, 2012, at the Alice Tully Hall, Starr Theater at Lincoln Center in New York City. Cast members from "Burn Notice," "Covert Affairs," "Fairly Legal," "In Plain Sight," "Necessary Roughness," "Psych," "Royal Pains," "Suits," "White Collar" and its upcoming legal offering "Common Law," which premieres Jan. 26.
