Twentieth Century Fox TV, the studio behind NBC’s “This Is Us,” has signed the drama’s star Sterling K. Brown to a production overall deal, TheWrap has learned.
Brown stars as Randall Pearson, one of the “Big Three” on the NBC series. He’s been nominated twice for Lead Actor at the Emmys for the role, and won in 2017. The cast also includes Milo Ventimiglia, Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley and Mandy Moore.
Moore also has a production deal with 20th Century Fox TV. Moore’s deal will see her develop and produce new projects for both broadcast and cable television through her newly launched company, which will hire an executive. No specifics were given on the details of Brown’s deal, however.
At this year’s Emmys, “This Is Us” was nominated for eight awards, and Ron Cephas — who portrays Randall’s biological father — took home the award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.
Brown is repped by Innovative, JWS Entertainment and Bloom Hergott Diemer Rosenthal Laviolette Feldman Schenkman & Goodman.
“This Is Us” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on NBC.
