Universal Pictures has rescued a Steve Carell project from turnaround at Warner Bros., TheWrap has confirmed.
Universal acquired Carell's comedy about — what else? — an FBI wedding. Carell, who delivered Universal its 2005 hit "The 40 Year Old Virgin," is expected to star. Phil Alden Robinson is writing.
Carell, Charles Segers and Bob Cooper will produce through their Carousel Productions, Sparkler Entertainment and Landscape Entertainment.
Warners still has a piece of Carell: His production company is based on the studio's lot and he is starring in the company's "Crazy, Stupid Love," which has a July 29 release date.
