Frank Chiocchi, the highly regarded executive VP of marketing at Universal is moving to Disney, where he will head creative advertising, TheWrap has confirmed.
In his role at Disney, Chiocchi will have a greater strategic role than he has at Universal.
Chiocchi joined Universal as senior VP, creative advertising, in March 2002. Before that, he was president and executive creative director at the film advertising firm Craig Murray Productions West. He joined that company in 1993 and opened CMP's west Los Angeles office three years later.
Before joining Universal, Chiocchi had worked on several of its campaigns, including "The Mummy Returns," "The Grinch" and "The Fast and The Furious." Other campaigns include "Toy Story," "Blade," "Boys Don't Cry," "Love & Basketball," "Vertical Limit," "15 Minutes," "Big Fat Liar" and "The Bourne Identity."
Chiocchi's career also has included stints at ABC, where he was a staff writer and senior producer and at CBS. He also owned a Phoenix, Arizona advertising agency.
