‘Unauthorized Full House Story’ First Clip Teases Charmless Olsen Twins, Inappropriate Saget Jokes (Video)

Lifetime’s take on the behind the scenes drama of popular 90s sitcom to premiere in August

The first clip has been released for Lifetime’s “Unauthorized Full House Story,” purporting to tell the behind the scenes story of one of the 1990s’ most popular sitcoms.

The show centered around Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), a San Francisco sportscaster who tries to raise his three daughters with the help of his brother-in-law (John Stamos) and his best friend (Dave Coulier).

The show also starred Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and was an early starring role for the Olsen twins, who jointly played Michelle Tanner.

In the footage (above), a scene involving Joey sleepwalking is being filmed, but naturally the good stuff happens after “Cut” is yelled.

The drama on set seems rather tame, with John Stamos (played by Justin Gaston) asking for a recast on baby Michelle, since the toddler Olsens don’t seem to be up to his standard. Meanwhile, the fictional version of Bob Saget (Garrett Brawith) has no qualms about bringing up stripper poles in front of an impressionable young Jodie Sweetin (Dakota Guppy).

The new unauthorized movie of the week comes at an opportune time as Netflix has just started production on “Fuller House,” the sequel series which reunites nearly the entire original cast, except for the Olsens.

“Unauthorized Full House Story” will premiere Aug. 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Lifetime.
