Tyra Banks is set to make her return to daytime TV with the new syndicated ABC panel show “FABLife,” in which the model will serve as the head of her own group of fashion and lifestyle experts.
“‘FABLife’ is unique and different and fresh because we are five life stylists that are going to make your life fun and beautiful because we are experts in different fields,” Banks told TheWrap.
Bank’s daytime talk show co-hosts are Chrissy Teigen, Joe Zee, Lauren Makk and Leah Ashley, who will offer viewers advice on cooking, fashion, business, and much more.
Banks also had high praise for “The View,” which she called “the mothership of the panel talk show,” but said that there are virtually no similarities between her show and the long-running ABC show. “If you look at ‘The View,’ it’s a panel, we’re a panel. But then that’s where the comparison stops and we’re bringing that expertise.”
“We won’t be getting into arguments over politics and current events, but we might be getting into debates about the politics of hair, because there’s a lot of politics about hair and race and this and that.”
Banks also spoke on her reasons for leaving “The Tyra Banks Show,” which aired for five seasons from 2005-2010.
“It was very expensive to produce and I was burnt out. So that combination of ‘This thing is expensive,’ ‘The television landscape is changing,’ and ‘I can’t do this anymore.’ All that was like ‘It’s time for this to just to be over.’”
